The methodology followed at Deutsche Schule Curitiba is inspired by the Montessori method of education, but not limited to it.
Other pedagogues and thinkers support our philosophy, such as Fröbel, Pestalozzi and Piaget.
The adaptation process must take place in partnership between the school and the families. All pupils are welcomed in an amicable manner, so that the child and family are positively integrated into the school.
In Early Childhood Education, the process can take longer and the presence of a familiar carer may be necessary at first.
The pedagogical team holds initial assemblies, and then sporadic meetings as necessary. These initial gatherings introduce the team, the school's spaces and the children's routine at school.
In Kindergarten, the use of technology is not part of the children's routine.
In elementary school classes, various technologies are used in the classroom. The conscious and appropriate usage of these tools is discussed with the students and the Pedagogical Team. Using mobile phones is not allowed. Free play, reading books, playing games and chatting are part of everyday life at break and recess times.
